South African language fiesta!
Me and Becky, somewhere after Senegal, en route to Johannesburg
I can’t find my iPod Touch. On the upside, it makes me want to catalogue my trip to South Africa instead of letting it languish on my hard drive. So here is Brian.
I met Brian in the airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, when I needed to recharge my laptop and he kindly shared his power adapter. He speaks five official South African languages, as demonstrated here. I believe they are Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans, and English, but you know, he spoke so fast, I’d been travelling for 36 hours, and I don’t know nothin’ about South African languages except English and “Dumela.” That’s it, baby.
Yes, I know he’s sideways. No, iPhoto doesn’t want to rotate him, but I know you tech-y people out on them Internetz can tell me how to fix it.
I still intend to publish my e-book about my African travellin’, including Brian’s life story. It’s written mostly as prose poems, kind of like what Ellen Hopkins does. Would anyone shell out $2.99 for that?
In the meantime, you can check out my Medical Post article I’ve previously mentioned here.
