Crime Writers of Canada Award Finalist x 2: The Red Rock Killer and “The Longest Night of the Year”

I was standing at the Toronto Indie Author Conference when M.H. Callway posted that some Mesdames of Mayhem had been shortlisted for the 2025 Crime Writers of Canada Award.

One of them is meeeeeeeeee.

I actually came up twice!

My book, The Red Rock Killer, is a finalist for the best juvenile/YA novel. (Amazon link is here)

My short story, “The Longest Night of the Year” (Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine), is a finalist for the best short story.

Only four people have been nominated twice in the same year since the history of the Crime Writers of Canada Award! That includes my new friend Twist Phelan.
